It is used as the default format from the Corel Draw application which was first developed in 1987 by Michael Bouillon and Pat Beirne who were tasked with developing a vector based illustration program that Corel could package with.

Convert Adobe Portable document format to CorelDRAW vector or bitmap graphics.
We have found one software suitable in our database for this conversion.
CorelDraw graphics editor has known issues when importing PDF document files not exported by CorelDraw itself.
Even slight oddities in the .pdf file can cause CorelDraw to not recognize any data. This is typically the case for older PDF documents which, when imported, cause 'File is corrupted' error window.
It was reported to us that a quick fix for this would be to simply re-save your .pdf again (PDF/A or PDF/X) using latest Adobe Acrobat Reader. So this may be one of the first thing you can try to 'fix' .pdf documents so they can be opened in CorelDraw.
Even better solution would be to re-save it as one of the PostScript files (.ps, .eps) that can be imported to CorelDraw without any trouble. With a valid PDF/PS document you should now be able to import it to CorelDraw and pick to import curves or texts.
Of course, for pdf to cdr conversion to work, you need CorelDraw. Unfortunately, we haven't found any 3rd party utility that could directly and reliably convert pdf to cdr files.
Mac users have even less options, because CorelDraw is not available for macOS, so you would have to launch it in Windows virtual machine
It is unlikely that will find psd to cdr converter online, considering CDR format is proprietary and most programs / online converters just deal with some older variant of the format.

The table with program actions contains information about what each program is capable of doing with their files. This may be a good pointer for further searches for certain file conversions and help you find the converter you are looking for if our search result is insufficient for you. However, it is far from perfect and may sometimes show results which are not really usable because of the nature of the software handles the files. So a conversion that appears as possible, just because of matched actions, may in fact not be possible.

What is the definition of a raster or bitmap image?
It is layers composed of individual pixels which can be seen as squares of color when magnified, plus raster layers let you display subtle changes in tones and colors.
What is the definition of a vector image?
Vector objects, such as lines and shapes, vector text or vector groups, are composed of geometric characteristic and can easily be edited.
Here’s an example of the visual differences between vector and raster (bitmap) art:

In the busy world of graphic design, images and files are edited, shared and outsourced to vendors on a daily basis. It would be ideal if everyone spoke the same design language, but that is not always the case. Not all files are created equal. Vector files can be created using a graphic design software, such as CorelDRAW, and raster files are created and manipulated in other types of software programs. So how do you get the files to work together?
Converting various file types to vector
Thankfully, the vectorization process is quick and easy with the built-in technology of the PowerTRACE™ engine. It provides the best tracing results and turns the most demanding bitmap images into high-quality vector objects.
With a few simple steps, you will be able to convert an existing raster or bitmap file, such as a .JPG, .BMP or .PNG file, into a vector file.

In addition to the conversion process, you can also trace a vector image. Tracing is essentially another way to take a raster or bitmap image and converting it into a vector graphic. This helpful webinar will cover these important tracing topics:
PowerTRACE settings
How to avoid tracing pitfalls
Image readiness and quality
Preparing images for tracing
Reducing nodes in the final trace
Font recognition
Simplifying images prior to tracing
Color conversion
Step 2: isolate the section you want to trace
Step 4: delete the seagull vector image
Step 5: smooth the rough edges with the Smooth tool
